How Climate Change Effects Hurricanes Humans are harming themselves and will continue to for many more years if they do not change the way they live. The weather is changing from day to day and the change is visible to us, which is caused by climate change. Climate change is caused from gases going into the atmosphere. The gases in the atmosphere are causing the temperature to rise which will cause many problems for the world (What Is Climate Change). We need to change the way we live and stop sending heat into the atmosphere in order to prevent climate change and therefore hurricanes could be prevented or at least become smaller and less harmful. Climate change is caused when people …show more content…
Hurricanes form in the ocean near the equator. The ocean levels will rise as the temperature rises. As the ocean levels rise the ocean temperatures will also rise. As hurricanes form they become stronger in warmer waters. Hurricanes can become a lot more dangerous if they make landfall. Every year people pay over one billion dollars for damage caused by hurricanes (Muller).
Considering the hurricanes become stronger in the warm water then the world could start to see stronger, more deadly hurricanes in the years to come. As the ocean temperatures rise and hurricanes become stronger there will be more major hurricanes or intense hurricanes. Major and intense hurricanes are the same thing. A hurricane that is a category three or higher is known as a major hurricane. They are also known as major hurricanes if the are moving fifty meters per second or one hundred eleven miles per hour (Goldenburg). Overall humans need to find other ways of living to prevent gases from going into the atmosphere. Hurricanes are not good and can cause a lot of damage. Then people end up needing to pay for the damage. So if people can find a better way to possibly prevent hurricanes from becoming stronger and more deadly than they …show more content…
