EXPLAIN:
The Students will explain how light energy affects the size of the shadow. They will write in their journals how they discovered that when the flashlight is closer to the shape, the light energy is increased and the shadow is bigger. Also they will discover that when the light is further away, the light energy is decreased and the shadow is smaller.
The Teacher will guide the students to the understanding that when the flashlight is closer to the shape the light energy increase and that is why the shadow becomes larger, and when the flash light is further away the light energy decreases and the shadow is now smaller.
ELABORATE:
The Students will discuss about how the light energy from the sun makes different shadows. In their journals they will write or draw a picture of a shadow the sun …show more content…
The main objective of the lesson was that the students will be able to observe and describe the changes in an objects’ shadow when light energy in increased and decreased. From my pre-assessment the students demonstrated that they know the main sources of light energy. The concept that was missed overall was the concept involving increasing and decreasing. On the pre-assessment only 5 students answered the question about increasing and decreasing correctly and 14 answered it wrong. After the lesson was taught only 6 got the increasing and decreasing question wrong and 13 get it correct. On the pre-assessment the class average was 85, and after the lesson was taught the class average improved to 97. After looking at the pre-assessment and the post assessment it shows that overall the students grasped the learning
