I started my taekwondo journey on December 2011. Since then I have gained so much knowledge that has not only helped me grow, but has also shaped me to what I am today. During my time as a martial artist I have had so many experiences, so before going for 1st Dan Black Belt. I would like to share my story.
Why I Began Martial Arts
During my childhood, my family and I were super obsessed with karate and kung - fu movies. Mostly movies like karate kid were our motivation to start taekwondo. The warm-up consisted of one hundred jumping jacks and ten regular pushups. At the time I thought they was super hard. When I tried, I was out of shape, so I kind of struggled through them. When it was time to learn the kicks and punches it was pretty confusing. No one really explained the technique to me, so I just ended up throwing my hand or foot out randomly. After a few minutes, I just tried to mimic all the higher belts. This is where my martial arts career begins.
From there, the belts flew by quickly. A year had gone by and we had already tested and acquired our blue belts. This is when complications arose. After we had tested for our blue belt, our mom had decided it was time for a change in scenery. She felt that we needed better training and didn't feel comfortable in the environment we were learning. So we left.
While we were on a little break from taekwondo we ran into some friends from Lee’s. It turned out they left for the same reasons we did. As they are talking to my mother, they suddenly bring up a martial arts place called Guardian. My mom, suddenly intrigued, asks for all the information she can get from them. Finally, when she is done drilling them, she decided to take us
