After researching customer loyalty programs, they seem to be a very common occurrence in retail stores, especially in the nationwide stores such as BestBuy, Petsmart, and Kohl’s. Generally, the loyalty programs feature small discounts for the initial sign-up and award points every time you purchase a product or merchandise from their retail outlets. After reaching so many points on your loyalty card or account you will be offered more discounts or free merchandise with the purchase of some other items.
4. After being assigned to the ‘No Customer Escapes’ project, Jim should assess his employees that would be the best fit for the project and assign them to a task force or project team. After thinking of some ideas, or brainstorming with the team he can delegate responsibilities to carry out necessary tasks and objectives to complete the project.
5. As stated in the case article, there have been many years of development in this company and with the new system analysts comes new ideas and perspectives that may not be seen from people that have been with the company for so long.

Ella, the Chief Operating Officer, portrayed to Jim that the ‘No Customer Escapes’ project is of extreme importance to her by letting Jim know that Bob will be working with him and reporting everything back to Ella. In Response, he should let her know that the project is also very important to him and be confident in every decision he makes. He should also keep in contact with Ella rather than solely relying on Bob.
3. Jim must employ some effective strategies to work around the busy schedule of an important team member, Carmen Sanchez. To effectively work her into the project, Jim may need to find out when Carmen has any spare time and schedule sessions with her to pick at her thoughts and ideas. Since managers are usually working before or after store hours, Jim would likely schedule a meeting before or after opening and closing hours.
4. Now that Jim has created a team for his project, he must now establish a relationship with his customers. When a customer walks into the store he may be able to ask a few questions of category to any customer that he notices to be returning and a separate set of questions for new customers to see if a loyalty program with certain features may increase customer loyalty. This should allow Jim to become more personable with his customers and gain a deeper, more thorough understanding for them, establishing a stronger relationship.
