GERD is similar to GER except it’s just more common and serious. People that has GERD are likely to experience a lots of heartburn , sharp pains in the trunk of body beginning from the neck to thorax , strep throat, difficulty of breathing and difficulty of swallowing,
GER and GERD affect patient’s daily life most likely 3 times out of a week due to uncomfortable pains and feelings. About 20 million humans are affected by this disease overtime due to digestive issues. Patients are to experience lack of rest because of the daily and nightly reflux and also excruciating pain throughout the body from dietary intakes. If disease is left untreated GER and GERD could create swelling in the neck and irritation in the body.

Stage 2 is where the feelings in intolerable and more difficult to deal with. In this stage there is a slight chance of specialist prescriptions are to work but could have an uncomfortable relief. Stage 3 is where GERD is getting worse in which over counter medicines aren’t working and patients is likely to visit specialist more during this time. Manometry is the study where specialists are trying to identify the tasks of the lower esophageal valve and also helps to see if patients are in need of surgery. Esophageal monitoring is the test in which the patients are hooked up to a machine for doctors to monitor the esophageal and notice the changes and reflux.
