When authors describe characters and settings, I can visualize the character’s appearance, how they move, and where they spend their time. While reading The Maze Runner, by James Dashner, I bring my imagination into play in order to immerse myself in the characters’ world. The characters in the story are able to force me to feel their emotions of fear and uncertainty. I feel as if I am living alongside the characters and going through the same situations that they are experiencing. Albert Einstein once declared, “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For while knowledge defines all we currently know and understand, imagination points to all we might yet discover and create” (Einstein).
