In order to find accurate information about how Psychologists feel about IAT I went to the American Psychological Association website. According to The American Psychology Association, “IAT is one of those rare research tools that have transcended the lab to catch the attention of not just the social psychologists”. Furthermore, I found that certain Psychologists are comfortable with the test such as Hart Blanton, PhD who thinks the IAT should provide “feedback as a diagnosis and wants it held to the same standard as clinical diagnostic tool”. While other Psychologists such as Greenwald Nosek, PhD believe it is simply an education tool to help people to recognize implicit bias. I feel like my results implied something that could not have been farther from the truth. I am very honest and realistic with myself and I believe I would be the first to know if I were at all bias towards another race. I do however, have some bias about parenting and I continue to work through them daily, but race is definitely not one of those categories. I also feel that IAT are just trick analysis to get people thinking. Maybe some people will be convinced they have a bias, but I see it as just a pattern in one way or another. The result of my IAT actually threw me off guard and I was speechless. In my opinion if we listen to every person that had an opinion where would our identity be? The answer is, we would not have our own
