Supply chains covers all aspects involved in delivering the final product or service, from the organisations work activities that should be designed, made and used for the service or product produced. In order for companies to expand and function smoothly, they rely on their supply chain to provide them with what is needed. The customers and suppliers added to the value chain are now part of the extended value chain or the extended organisation. The ability to use resources and capabilities that an organisation has ownership over plays a big role in ensuring that the company and its employees achieve the goals and objectives initially set by the organisation. In the supply and value chain, each member has part or role that they play which contributes to the outcome of what is needed or required.
