If nurses can find a way to give patients the option of when to bath this could greatly help their mental state and could lower the rates of depression and anxiety. I would work to allow my patients to have the opportunity to state when they would like to be bathed. I would then try very hard to get all my work done and bath them later in the day if that was what they wanted. I would also talk to the care aides on the floor to try to get them used to the idea as well as hopefully show them that it can make a change in the patients life to give them a bit of say. I would also talk to the other nurses and the nurse manager on the flood and show them information such as the CPG to try to convince everyone that when possible allowing the patients as much control over their day as you can could potentially help with the mental state of these patients. The nurses I have seen want their patients to be happy and not have anxiety or depression about being in hospital. I think this would be a possible way to help lower those risk, and that everyone who cares for the patients would also enjoy being able to help their patients have an overall better experience while in
