Metabolism is the chemical reaction in the body cell’s that convert fuel from food into energy needed to do everything. Metabolism consists of anabolism, the constructive phase and catabolism, the destructive phase where complex materials are broken down. Specific proteins control the chemical reactions of metabolism and each of this chemical reaction is coordinated with other body function. In fact, thousands of metabolic reactions happen at the same time to keep our cells healthy. Digestion of protein breaks it into amino acids.
