Choosing a career depends on the individuals’ decision making which is considered as one of the most difficult things to engage with throughout a person’s life. It is something that people frequently do as many choices appear every day. Also, Doud (2003) said that the critical stage of career decision is during senior high school years. There are many factors that can influence decision making and one of these is the interest which causes individuals to focus to something which essentially fascinates and attracts them. It is starts with individual interest which is a relatively long-term relationship of a person with a certain aspect and characterized by positive feelings, higher values, and deeper knowledge is called individual interest and unlike the situational interest, it may or may not last because it is only a temporary interaction with an object. Also, the family systems approach to career development proposes that the quality of family environment of an individual may directly affect the ability to discover and consider career options and to make an appropriate career decision for an individual. High school adolescent individuals (as suggested by the National Career Development Guidelines, 1992) should know the connection concerning educational achievement and career planning. So, young individuals may recognize the family environment either pressure or support when it comes to career planning and exploration.
Moreover, Hirschi (2010) pointed out that basic personality dispositions (an individual’s tendency to behave, think, and feel in specific situation) are useful in determining the connections of interests and goals.
