Social barriers in workplaces can be due to verbal or nonverbal communication and language barriers. Communication among employees is significant in the productivity and functioning of companies. Lack of communication in the workplace can lead to conflicts and disagreements with employees, which can result in decreased performance. Also, miscommunication can lead to gossip and conflicts within coworkers. In addition, nonverbal and verbal communication can be a barrier in the workplace due to misinterpretation. Nonverbal communication cues are fundamental factors in interpersonal relationships. Therefore, to maintain a positive relationship among employees it is important to maintain a positive communication style among employees. In order for companies to succeed, it is important for them to understand and be aware of current nonverbal cues.
