The cause for its existence is something other than the universe itself, because a sequence of events must be able to go infinitely through the future and back through the past however time itself must have another cause.
4. Human beings alone cannot provide an adequate explanation of the cause for the existence of the universe. Therefore there must be another being that has created the universe.
5. Finally, the cause and explanation of the creation of the universe must solely be a necessary being- such as God.
6. Therefore, a necessary being (a being that cannot not-exist) exists, and a timeless, personal and immaterial being of immense power would have been the cause of the universe.

It has often been said that science is the only way to gain this knowledge. Science may tell us about the natural world, so we can figure out the composition of the world as well as other things, but knowledge comes from more than just science. In addition to science, reason or logical deduction is also a form of knowledge. Other ways to gain knowledge can come from testimony (gaining knowledge from other people), introspection (where you find out about what’s going on in your internal state or your mind). There’s not scientific experiment that you can perform to gain the information that you would through these forms of gaining knowledge often making them much faster and more accurate, therefore proving that science is not the only way to gain knowledge.
