To be able to obtain positive outcome from “internal quality assurance procedures “the following steps as IQA need to determine: what is to be assessed in relation to unit, type of assessments, numbers of tutors and assessors involve in the qualification, as they experience within the content of the delivered qualification, are all learners working towards their qualification. The iqa will sample one unit or learning outcome across all the learners and all the assessors. This enables a comparison to be made between how different tutors and or assessors are delivering the same unit to different learners in different locations.it is a good way of identifying consistencies –or inconsistencies –in approach working methods decision marking and feedback.
Horizontal sampling
This is the most commonly used type of IQA sampling. Over a period of time, the IQA plans and samples something from every unit or learning outcomes across a qualification or program.it results in an overall picture of how things are progress
Theme-based sampling
This is only used irregularly by IQA, as it is a less extensive type of simpling .it tends to be used on stable programs that have already been subject to a lot of inspection and where few issues have been found .whith this method one activity ,or type of evidence is samplined across tutors assessors, learners or sites.
The whole process of sampling will also give ability to monitor assessor performance, which might indicate personal development needs, or risks for
