Officers are always looked at, as what are they doing, and why are they doing it. The actions are constantly questioned whether or not it is appropriate for them to do. Internal affairs are the ones that make sure what the corrections officer is doing is appropriate. There is a necessity for internal affairs at all prisons, to investigate the actions of the corrections staff. It is an intensive job working at a prison; the biggest challenge would be to not become a victim of the inmates. They are in prison for being a criminal, they are good at it. They hear everything that is said to other officers, making it a hard job to talk about anything.
Internal Affairs In prisons corrections officers can only rely on each other, while all the inmates hear everything that they talk about; easily making them victims, to bring contraband into prison. The easiest way to prevent this is to limit certain kinds of conversation outside of work. Training for internal affairs is a long term ongoing training that will continue to evolve, to make sure that the way that contraband is being brought into the prison is stopped.
