It required us to consider what we would look for to help students to receive the very highest quality education that is inclusive and keeps the learning needs of each individual student at the center of everything that we do. It also required us to look at learner development and individual differences as we have to have background information about our students, choose appropriate means of assessing them and then take that information and apply it to the specific child’s needs, learning and skill level. For example, if I consider this particular artifact and the last child I assessed, the reading was at an independent level but considering the child’s comprehension of what was being read, I would want to continue to instruct at this level.
