A society with educated members would further the advancement of the human race. George Washington once wrote “Without an educated population that a democracy couldn’t work because you need people to understand the issues, discusses them, and be able to read about them”. They also need to understand how the government works in order for democracy to work. Without an educated population knowing the laws and rights they have then the government is able to do things without the understanding or knowledge of the people.
