I agree with the author because most of my friends spend their time taking photos, editing them on Instagram and posting photos on Snapchat, so when we go out they spend their time on their phones rather than us having a real conversation. I stopped communicating with real people not because I choose too but because I was forced to I did not go out one time with one of my friends that listen to what I was saying rather than being more concern about what was going on with their phones.
We make ourselves lonely by not using social medias adequately and not knowing to difference what we need and what is the used for social media. I think that we ala need to have our own alone time to use social media than when we are accompanied by friends, family and children that we unwillingly take for granted sometimes and without realizing it we neglect by over using social media. Wow can you believe seven out of ten people use social media that is more than half of the population in US. This just shows how many people use social media in their everyday
