Ineffective Punishment
Crime prevention is equally, if not more important the punishing those who commit the crimes. In a world where our constant need for growth is met with smarter and more dangerous criminals, we need to take more drastic steps to protect the innocent citizens of this country.
Even if the means to do so, may seem extreme. Going to prison is thought to deter criminals from committing any crimes. However in a circumstance that this form of punishment does not deter anyone from committing crimes, what should be done with the criminals? Should they be let free, or should the punishment be more severe.

This would be an exhausting job, however there would be people willing to work around the clock to protect the citizens. In my opinion this would be the most effective way to protect communities and deter crime from happening.
Although many would think that this is a violation of rights, what should be the focus is the bigger picture. A citizen, not a criminal, gets obtained. They are held for an extended
period of time, questions and other preventative measures are taken. After the authorities are more than convinced that a crime will not occur, the citizen is released. There is no reason to keep them, have them registered as a criminal or send them to prison because a crime was never committed. This could actually even lead to an even more effect way for human to behave.
Depending on the amount of information giving, and the mental stability of the all parties involved. This could lead people to having better communication skills. In a controlled environment, the parties could meet and discuss the events that happened that led up to the potential murder. Of course this may not work in every circumstance, but revisions may be made in order to fit the situation.
The ability to see into the future of course is only a wonderful plot for a sci-fi movie. However, if one thing is a clear reality, it is that our way of punishing and attempting to deter crime needs to be reformed now. For years we have been following the same guidelines.
Unfortunately these guidelines are not successful and are enabling are growth. We should start thinking about what the root cause is that ultimately brings a person to commit a crime. You can’t put a band aid on a broken bone and hopes it heals correctly. You need to build a foundation (the cast) around the arm to properly mend the bones back together. Over time the bones do heal properly with the assist of the proper foundation. The same idea will help criminals. Weather it was childhood abuse they never got over, were not taught right from wrong, or just don’t care, there is a chance to help everyone from the bad choices they make. It may sound slightly childish to think that everyone can be saved, but it is not different than everyone is innocent until proven
