Opinions are wide, discussing the pros and cons. Some hate the idea and others are for the legalization. The marijuana outbreak that started in the sixties with hippies made a comeback in 1996 when it became medicinally legal in California (PBS Frontline Marijuana Timeline 1995-2014). Later, in 2012 the recreational use of marijuana was legalized in Colorado and Oregon to citizens over the age of twenty-one. The way that thoughts were shared was through social media. Tobacco use has always been around sense it could be planted and grown. The age to smoke cigarettes and tobacco products is eighteen years old. Even though research has shown tobacco to be harmful, it is still a commonly used product. Whether or not someone realizes it, social media is warping people’s minds and making everyone groupthink and conform to social norms. There are many topics of social media that include beauty, sexual orientation, culture, drugs, sex, politics, and depression.
