Since heart disease is genetic, a person could get the disease but there are some ways to reduce the risks. If you are someone who smokes, and has relatives with the disease, there is a big chance of you getting it, but you can reduce the risks of a stroke by quitting smoking. There are some medications that help people with the disease. Some medications reduce your heart's workload, and help decreases your chance of getting a heart attack or stroke. The best way to lower the risks are having a balanced diet and being active. Some people with sudden heart attacks need surgery, in surgery a lot of people die because if someone who gets heart attack doesn’t get treated fast their heart stops and when your heart stops beating, there is very little chance for it to start beating again. Cardiac arrest is different from heart attack because, heart attacks happen when the muscles don't get enough blood so the muscles die, but in cardiac arrest the heart immediately stops pumping because of some problems in the heart, but a cardiac arrest may occur with a heart attack. “It takes just four to six minutes after cardiac arrest before a person experiences brain death and then complete death.
