Integrity is Forever “Success Will Come and Go, But Integrity is Forever”- Amy Rees Anderson. In life, integrity is a substantial part of what makes each person unique. It is our quality of being honest and having strong moral principals. To understand the true meaning of integrity, it is important to make clear of what it means, explain how hard it is to gain, and explain how effortless it is to lose. This can be done by showing reference to Lord of the Flies by William Golding and showing how integrity was lost throughout their society. The trust others have in a relationship goes beyond anything that can be measured because it brings along with it opportunities and brighter futures.

Avoiding those who are not trustworthy is key in gaining integrity. People without integrity try to manipulate others, so that they believe them and lie for them. Once they start to associate and lie for an person with no integrity, they start to become one. A big way to gain and maintain integrity is when making promises; keep them. A promise is the first part of a decision, a responsibility that people chose to take on. In Lord of the Flies Ralph is a central character that demonstrates integrity. He stays true to morals and tries his best to keep everything together even through the challenging circumstances. Even as he begins to lose power of the group, he does not lie to them and does his best to keep order. Integrity can take some time to gain if a person does not already grow up having it, but it is worth the extra
