International Compensation vs American Compensation When studying Human Resources much emphasis is placed on US compensation and benefits. However, as time has progressed we have seen many Fortune 500 companies expand their businesses on a global scale. As a matter of fact, American compensation and benefit packages are the hardest to compile. The first step you need to take is to review the compensation for that particular manager with similar backgrounds in your industry. Since there are different levels of executives, you should make sure the information you receive is accurate. Since the major senior executive salaries have to be based on the decision of the Board of Directors, you need to make the compensation and benefit packages are not extensive. For example, the average CEO makes a median salary of $741,599 without the additional perks he/her receives; if you include salary, bonuses and some benefits with the CEO’s his new median salary becomes $1,200,000.00. Some of the benefits they are given include access to the corporate jet, company car (for both the CEO and spouse), stock options, signing bonuses, et cetera. (Salary.com, …show more content…
