Students will work together to translate the shows songs and scrips in a text discourse process that can take weeks of blended group and independent work. Students will also learn about how to work in a theater setting, working with professionals (directors, children), cultural mediation and appropriate business skills. Interpreting mentors will guide them through the process and discussion, and the Deaf advisor will monitor and provided cultural and language interpretation support. Some interns are already working one on one with different mentors, and they are invited to join the process to reiterate any outside learnings that overlap with this assignment and setting. Students will not only increase their knowledge of working in the theater setting, they are transferable skills that will help them as the move along on their career journey, such as vocabulary, increasingly gaining comfort standing in front of people, and discourse
