Krakauer has countless different ways of expressing logos in his writing. The main idea Krakauer uses is the little information blurbs he does to transition his sentence. When reading the true story about Chris McCandless the section when Chris/Alex is in Yellow Datsun and he has to leave his car in the wash he did not want to speak to any rangers because he simply because he did not want to answer to higher power. This brings up the mention of what McCandless’s thoughts on the government. McCandless states “His moral responsibility to flout the laws of state… There would be thickets of red tape to negotiate and fines to pay” (28). Representing the rhetoric response of logos because the education the reader has gotten from the lives of the reader has given information on how the government actually works. Chris/Alex disagrees with this logic and gives senses to the readers of gaining the logic of the government. On the other hand, the very end of the story of Chris McCandless was suffering for days on not enough food and his starvation in alaska. This leading to his death, many different people have came up with the conclusion of Chris’s death and it is explained, “If a sufficient amount of swainsonine had accumulated in his body, however, this windfall of small game would have provided little nourishment” (197). As the book is coming to the end the family history gets told, this having some explanation of why Chris did what he did. The Idea behind including these details at the end was not to give you the wrong idea throughout the whole book. In an interview with Carine she announces “Chris was the sort of person who brooded about things” (121). This proving the ethics of Chris always was the same, but through the book the ethics has changed and evolved. The reader might have changed the views of the main or minor character just by what they say and how they say it. The very last thing that is announced in the story of “into the wild” is his goodbye note. This Note represented the conclusion of his life, the thing he wanted everyone to last remember him by. the notes announced, “I have had a happy life and thank the lord. Goodbye and may god bless all.” (199). The last thing he wrote was something that is going to mean the world to someone like his family, and he knew that. As the note makes the reader know that he did not always want to be alone, he just wanted to be happy, and that 's what is proven by his note.
