Then in 1939 passed the Cash and carry act which allowed them to aid Britain and france with non-military goods and transported if fully paid in cash. In March 11, 1941 the lend lease act in passed to help those countries that lacked the supplies necessary to fight against the Germans this act permitted selling, lending, or exchanging arms and supplies . This mostly implied to the British were desperately in need of help, as they were going bankrupt and didn’t have the currency to pay for the military goods, food, and raw materials they needed from the United States. President Roosevelt states “We have furnished the British great material support and we will furnish far more in the future.” This shows the United States showing great support to keep Britain going because they are important the the United States …show more content…
This finally brought the United States into World War II, After ending trade of raw material with Japan decided to attack the United states naval fleet. The Japanese were able to destroy nearly 20 American naval vessels, including eight enormous battleships, and more than 300 airplanes. More than 2,000 Americans soldiers and sailors died in the attack, and another 1,000 were wounded. There were many actions that brought the United states into the war such as passing the lend lease act which pretty much sold military weapons to the British. But the attack on pearl harbor finally did it bring the United States into World War II.
In Conclusion the United States went from being isolated and aiding it allies and preparing for war while also recovering from the depression to being involved with World War II fighting a two front
