God had a covenant with His people, promised that He would protect them if they stayed committed to their covenant with Him. God’s judge against His people for their rebellious attitudes, Isaiah called for them to repent and turn back to God. Repent from their false religions, from their pride and riches that had corrupted the nation (Arnold, & Beyer, 2015). Isaiah 3:1-3 shows how God will remove His entire blessing from Jerusalem and Judah (Bible Hub, Holman Christian Standard Bible). The prophet Jeremiah message was for King and government to truly repent, so they might be spared death but not exile. God has used the prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah to bring His judgment, His word and His will to His people. The messages of these two prophets have a two-fold message. The first was a judgment; the second is God’s promise to always be with is people. They brought God’s word of how He will bless them. Isaiah was given the message about the fulfillment of David’s line through the coming of the branch. The importance’s of this message is the coming of the Lord and the Kingdom of God. Isaiah 7:14 says “Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign, The virgin will conceive, have a son, and name him Immanuel” (Bible Hub). Isaiah foretold of God’s promise of the coming banquet with the Lord, when death is gone forever, and there will be personal, intimate fellowship with Him (Arnold, & Bryan, 2015). Jeremiah 30:18-21 tells of the Lords new promise with exiles of Israel. Every city will be rebuilt; thanksgiving and a sound of celebration will come. “You will be My people, and I will be your God” (Bible Hub). Jeremiah declares in God’s message that they are God’s people.
