Background
Julius Caesar Caesar’s full name is Gaius Julius Caesar. He was born somewhere between 102 and 100 BCE. Caesar’s family had noble, Patrician roots. His father died in 85 BCE. A few years later he was engaged and he was possibly married to a wealthy young woman. His marriage soon was broken and when he was eighteen he married again to Cornelia. One of his best strengths was that he was a strong military leader. He treated many of his defeated generously, even Brutus. He appointed some of them to government. Caesar was a well liked person, because he was a generous, caring, good leader. He started public jobs for the poor people. Caesar also granted citizenship to people from foreign countries. Caesar greatly expanded the Roman empire. Caesar very rarely lost a battle, but when he did he made sure not to lose again. Those are some of Caesar’s strengths. ( I couldn’t find any weaknesses).
Contributions to Roman life and culture
Nero
Nero was a great artist. He started as a great military leader, but he ended as a horrible leader. He had very few contributions to Roman life. One of his contributions was that he was a good athlete. Nero had very few contributions, I think because he was a mean and cruel person.
Caesar
Caesar was a great military leader and a great emperor. He was elected consul against heavy optimate opposition led by Marcus Porcius Cato. He was nice and not merciless like some of the other leaders (Nero). He was a positive leader. He was also one of the best rulers in Rome at the time.
