The people here took the gifts of God for granted. While on Earth they spent majority of their time eating food and drinking. These people did nothing but produce tons of garbage and junk. Their punishment is to lie eternally like garbage. Too add to this, the Cerberus salivates over the Gluttons while they lie in lousy sludge 65). The justice for this crime is fair because there are thousands of people who go without food each day, but these individuals chose to be greedy instead of helping the people who are in need.
