CASE STUDY
3.1 INTRODUCTION
This chapter, the researcher will explain the study area in detail as well as the background and the history of the site. The purpose of this chapter is to give the impression and guidance on the actual site conditions and location about the area of the study. Apart from that, this paper also touches on different types of tourism in Kota Tinggi district.
3.2 STUDY AREA
Kampung Panchor and Kampung Makam are chosen as study area because (these) area (are) the largest historical building and major villages with historical effects along Sungai Johor. Kota Panchor was built of huge logs, layered and height of 12 feet. It is located on the mount Takul Roght, close to the river that flows into the river Takul Johor. Kota Panchor, have 12 bronze cannons placed in the city, in which two out of 12 were found during the reign of Sultan Ibrahim. There is also grave around Panchor like Tengku Dara Putih grave (at the peak Takul) and the Sultan Abdul Jalil grave (at the foot of Takul). 3.4 PHYSICAL ATTRACTION
In terms of physical attraction, in the area of Kampung Panchor and Kampung Makam, there is some physical attraction that can be identified as a tourist attraction. Among physical attraction identified are:
a. Sultan Abdul Jalil Grave
According to Kamarudin (1998), Tomb of Sultan Abdul Jalil is located in the orchards and the villages are close to the road. It is consequently shaped stone tombstone of Aceh. According to the locals, the tombs originally housed in a stone building. Today, the building is converted to a gated building. The stone blocks (mudstone) which are the original shape are about 50cm long and 30cm wide and 25cm thick can still be seen, but the stones had been used as a cemetery wall.
b. Tengku Dara Puteh Grave
According to Kamarudin (1998), the tomb is located at the peak of Tukulalong with some old tombs. The cemetery was used as a cemetery for the locals. The effects of coral stones shaped stone carvings of Aceh.
