Where it is derived from is the concentrations of the ions of the product, or the precipitate. The greater the concentrations of the ions, the higher the K_spwill be; and the higher the K_spthe greater the solubility of the precipitate will be. The objective of the second week of the lab was to find the K_sp of our stones, so that the molar solubility of each artificial kidney stone could be found.
The week two results give us the experimental calculations of the K_spof each of our kidney stones. We compare our results to the theoretical calulatons of K_sp.
For Ca〖CO〗_3, the theoretic K_sp=3.0*〖10〗^(-9). This shows that our kidney stone was not as pure as we would have wanted it, or the way it would actually be when it is formed in the kidneys. The kidney stone might have been contaminated with the other product of our original equation, Na〖NO〗_3.
Our home remedies show that we can use them to prevent getting kidney stones, or to help dissolve them if they are already formed. It would be easier to take, or drink, the lemon juice instead of the home remedy mix, since that one would be kind of difficult to drink. Both did dissolve the kidney stones, it’s just that one might have dissolved it with less amount than the
