The two mountain ranges in Latin America are the Andes and Sierra Madre Mountains. The Andes stretch from the top of South America, along the Pacific Coast, and finishes at the southern tip of South America. With 20,000 thousand foot mountains, the Andes come in as the second largest mountain range in the world next to the Himalayas. The Sierra Madre mountains are in Mexico and Northern Central America. It is divided into three sections. The Sierra Madre Oriental on the east, the Sierra Madre Occidental on the west, and the Sierra Madre del Sur in the south. The mountains cause little rain central Mexico and much on the ocean shores.
