In which he encountered encouragement to work at the fairly small appearing Lasell College. Although the college looked too small to him, Lopez had loved the freedom in teaching that he had not experienced in this formal teaching job. Where he was required to follow the administration 's instructions with no room to be inspired, opposed to the constant inspiration given to Lopez through the faculty and students. Even though Lopez loves working here he never thought that he would be making a living off of becoming an academic, despite his desire to live his life constantly learning. He also had never worked in Fashion Marketing, making a large change due to his former class was in Communications. As a few instances of difficult situations are when he had a student that couldn’t stop talking through class making himself and the students very upset. As a result of being unsure how to approach the student Lopez reached out to professional help to be advised on instructing the student that prevents them from disrupting the class. Another instance that was also a challenge for Lopez was when he had to face a student that didn’t turn in any work that was assigned to her with and without email warnings. In the end result, he had to fail the student due to failing to turn in due work but to his surprise, he had, later on, received an email from the same student thanking him for failing her. There are also times that students have surprised him, for example, when he was teaching Digital Marketing he had planned for the class to have a debate activity. Which he predicted to have a bad outcome, but to his surprise, the lesson had turned out to be very effective and even taught him a few things also. Lopez had formed two beliefs off of these type of situations. They are that students cannot be forced to learn but to learn they must want to learn, and that students should reflect on what is working or not working for them academically so they can progress better and
