A life event could shape or change a person’s life as they could be predictable or unexpected life events such as serious illness, disability, divorce and bereavement (Armstrong. T, 2008). It’s important to understand why the development of P.I.E.S and life events relates to health and social care setting because both reasons have an impact on individuals. For instance, you may encounter an unexpected life events like marriage or divorce. If an individual does not meet the positive event, this will have a negative effect on a person’s life, this would have an effect of overwhelming sadness and depression. In this case, being able to know the advantages and disadvantages of developments and life events shows how the environment and the society develop the different personalities and characteristics throughout the life stages. Therefore, life stages is relevant to health and social care because it helps you to understand the physical changes and characteristics which are inherited from their parents or inhabited from the environment we live in. It explains how the individual’s body grow and develop the skills and knowledge in each stage of development and also benefits the health professionals to identify the reasons or the factors that affect growth and development in human life stages and why they have obtained these
