Lisinopril is used to treat heart failure, high blood pressure, and to assist in the survival in patients who may have had a heart attack. It is in a class of drugs called Angiotensin Converting Enzyme blockers (ACE). This drug works by reducing certain chemicals that squeeze the blood vessels, so that the blood can flow smoother and the heart can pump the blood better.
