Oedipus refuses to accept Teiresias truth, even though he knows he is actually guilty of the crime of murder. At this moment the king has a conflict with the blind man Tiresias . He strongly believes Teiresias killed Laius . Also, There 's a conflict between the king as the killer, who is obviously himself. The character of the King Oedipus is of blame and the character of Tiresias is responsible for developing the theme sight vs blindness.

We can understand the mood of the characters, what they are thinking, and how they are feeling through these literary techniques. We can see the mood of Oedipus when the prophet Teiresias speaks to him about his prophecy of the murder that has been committed to the King, who is Oedipus’ father. Oedipus seems to not want to hear any of it. In fact, he accuses the blind Teiresias of the actual crime.
