Lastly, the author states no specific hypothesis, rather their goal
was to examine the effects of what types of parental involvement work best with junior
high school students.
From the beginning of time, parents have nurtured their children, modeled for their
children, and educated their children. It has been stated that parents are the child’s first
teacher and that the home is a child’s first classroom (Berger, 1991). PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT
The term parental involvement is such a board term. It can be as little as

Although, they all also agree on, how
much participation and what type (at home, in school, communications, tutoring) is
needed to increase student’s grades.
Researchers found that different types of parental involvement show better increases
in students’ academic achievement. One article states that the one on one at home works
best with achievement. The second and third article does not state which parent
involvement works best.
Researchers found that there are many limitations like too small of a sample used in
one school and one class, not a good representation of diverse populations, parents’ may
not be as truthful on the survey, students might have math anxiety and teachers might not be promoting involvement in their class.
The studies concluded with the need for good parent teacher communication in
fostering a relationship to increase parental involvement at school and at home for
success in academics for all students.
This is why there is so much research being investigated on for this topic, and so
