The color choice, the symbolic meaning and the accordance with the stage design are of paramount importance. The designer relied on a color palette that is not exaggerating to the eyesight. Mostly, blue was associated for the men and red was for the women. Also, the costumes denoted the poor background of the working class of the characters so that the audience can easily discern the social class of the protagonists. For example, the blue overall outfit of Toni and Mtanios allude to the clothing of a typical industrial worker. Moreover, the costumes are realistic and detailed. They are in perfect harmony with the meticulous decor that adds to the realistic atmosphere adapted in the play. The accessories of a typical house, the kitchen utensils, the detailed props let us define the play as being inspired by the realism movement of the theatre, where creating an image that is as close to reality is a main characteristic.
“Ma fina nedfa3, Ma rah nedfa3” proved to be a success in acting, directing and costume design. Watching a comic play that has substantial meaning was a real delight for me and especially because it was performed in colloquial Lebanese.
