This document was the first ever charter to limit the power of any King or Queen of England. It was influential because it limited their rule and prevented them from misusing their power. This document made the rulers accountable for their actions. The 37 English laws established in this document, created an outline which the monarchy had to follow. King John had to meet with the common people and be given consent to do anything. This document was the first to really allow society to become a part of their countries movement and gave the common man a voice in how they wanted their country to be run. It proved that separation of wealth or class did not matter, both would have to comply with one and another wish.
