Sign and symptoms of type 1 diabetes are increase thirst, frequent urination, extreme hunger, unintended weight loss, irritability and other mood changes, fatigue/ weakness, and blurred vision. Patient really has to up to date with doctor visit and needs to follow the instruction. If person really doesn’t care what he/she eats it can end up admitting in the hospital. There are some ways that person can manage the caring for type 1 diabetes. Patient should work on how to take insulin there many type of insulin could be prescribed ex. Rapid acting insulin, long acting insulin or intermediate. The main purpose is keeping the sugar level in normal range. Patients really should be work on diet, which is counting on carbohydrate. If the blood sugar not controlled it affects person’s emotions by causing behavior changes. Diabetes type 1 really not curable, because 90 percent’s of cells is destroyed. Person should really focus on diet and exercise. Sometime people try to transplant but it doesn’t work 100 percent. There might be only one or two cases, which it works. It does seem very disturbance for the person who has type 1 diabetes because whole life changes and it affects on love ones too. I have seen many patients the place I worked has amputation because of diabetes. Amputation happens because a diabetic person has blood vessels disease, which reduces the blood flow to the legs or feet. It mostly happens the people who have type 1. Person should pay attention what type shoes he/she wears, not to put lotion between toes, not to walk barefoot.
