We hear from his closest friends about how they accomplished walking over Notre Dame, and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. While they are talking it is as if you can hear the passion and joy in their voice as they talk about the dangers they faced and the happiness they shared together. Some of the most powerful scenes were of Philippe’s girlfriend, Annie Allix, describing how much she loves him and how dedicated she was to Philippe and his art. In one scene Annie says, “I would spend hours watching him walk. He wasn’t that experiences at the time, he was just beginning his life as a tightrope walker” (Man on Wire) Many people would say that Philippe has an overpowering effect which naturally draws people closer to him, this effect can clearly be seen through the statements of Annie.
