Marine Biology
Marine biology is a field in science that looks solely at the life of marine animals and plants. What is a marine biologist? A marine biologist is the study of oceans and the marine animals in the oceans that lve in our waters. They look at the organism behavior and interactions with the environment. The first research done on marine animals were by Aristotle 322bc. Although there has been marine biology before this time and plenty of studies done as early as 1200 bc Aristotle was the first to record the information. Aistotle identified a many different species including crustaceans, echinoderms, mollusks, and fish. They provide a source of food for millions of different species. Coral reefs also protect our coast lines from different storms and hurricanes and also prevent erosion for our beaches. They also provide a habitat for all different kinds or species in the marine ecosystem. Coral reefs are a huge part in the marine ecosystem that's why we try so hard to take care of them and protect them so not only does it benefit the creatures in the ocean it also benefits us providing some people with jobs to protect the coral reefs. People are also very attracted to the coral reefs so it also provides jobs for tourism since people are so attracted to these coral reefs there is snorkeling and scuba diving opportunities which racks in a lot of money which benefits us and the coral reefs. Coral reefs produce a chemical for defense and attack. They also have creatures that live within them that can help us produce medicine to cure many types diseases that we are trying to find cures
