Your perception of love is what you will give to others calling it loving, whether that is truth of love or not. Love is an emotion, it can't be seen or touched, and it is experienced differently by everyone, therefore it is difficult to measure. Although everyone experiences emotions, scientists do not all agree on what emotions are or how they should be measured or studied. Emotions are complex and have both physical and mental components. Its not a physical measurement. The component of emotions that scientists call subjective feelings refers to the way each individual person experiences feelings, and this component is the most difficult to describe or measure. Subjective feelings cannot be observed, instead, the person experiencing the emotion must describe it to others, and each person's description and interpretation of a feeling may be slightly different. Some think love can be measured by the amount of butterflies in their tummy. Others think love can be measured in bunches of flowers, or by using the words "for ever". I'm talking about qualities like love, happiness, satisfaction. In general they are less tangible to define and therefore more difficult to measure. Rationalism and romanticism are associated logic and reason on the one hand with the rationalist tendency, and emotion and romanticism with the romantic. Both of these traditions tends to favor one side and deprecate the other. I take the view not only that the two sides, are not if properly understood should not be regarded as conflicting. It is best to seek to understand more fully how they work together, so that they may each fulfil their proper roles. Romanticism was a reaction to rationalism as much as it was a result of the social changes. There are those romantic types like in movies that don't live for logic, but for emotions and love, and try to make the other person feel good, they are so sensitive and listening, speak in soft voices, value experiences over facts, silent moments full of atmosphere and sentimental things. This other kind however seem like they don't care much about rationality of what they do, they rely on their feelings.
