The issue surrounding Medical Cannabis is a worldwide discussion where debates about the prohibition of cannabis have a long history . In order to form an opinion on the Medical Cannabis legalisation debate, research commenced to gain information about various aspects of the drug. The evidence collected form a variety of sources produced surprising results, which are as evidence while forming an opinion.
History of Medical Cannabis:
Marijuana or Cannabis is a plant that originated from Central Asia. It has been used for medicinal purposes for at least 3,000 years . From times as early as 2737 B.C. Chinese Emperor Shen Neng prescribed marijuana tea to people who suffered from gout, rheumatism, and malaria and memory loss. The drug rapidly became popular throughout Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Hindus from India used cannabis for stress relief and religious purposes. A nomadic Indo-European group called the Scythians were the first in the Middle East to use cannabis as medicine. This happened between 2000 B.C. and 1400 B.C. Cannabis seeds were spreading throughout the world. The seeds were found everywhere, even in unusual places such as Viking ships.

If not taken correctly cannabis can cause problems such as a dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, dry and red eyes, heart and blood pressure problems, lung problems, impaired mental functioning, headache, dizziness, numbness, panic reactions, hallucinations, flashbacks, depression and sexual problems. Overuse of cannabis can cause mental Illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar and psychosis. If the drug hasn’t been corrected and dissected properly and is still full of the harmful chemicals then the drug can easily cause acute toxic psychosis, delusions, depersonalization, hallucinations, paranoia, depression and uncontrollable
