They used honew to sweeten their food and they mixed it with water to cool drinks. Teas were made form mint, sassafras or spicebush. Lemonaid was made from citurs flalvored sumac berries.

7. What did you find? Is there some 'modern' evidence to support these uses? Briefly explain. In the article “Effect of an Extract of Agave americana on Wound Healing Model in Experimental Animals” it states that Agave contains tetratriacontanol and homoisoflavanoids derivatives which help reduce antibacterial. It also contains genins whis help with inflammatory. An experiment was done on animals in the study and it shows that agave can be used for healing, however; more study need to be done on it to see if it can be used as a treatment for other disorders.
