An activity system is a structured organization that helps describe how people do work together. According to Kain and Wardle’s text in Writing About Writing, the activity system is made up of a subject, a community, rules within it, a division of labor, motives, and tools used by the subject. At the agency, the subject is the employee. The community is made up of strategists, designers, content creators, project managers, web developers, the CEO, the VP of design, the account director, and the administrative assistants; similarly the division of labor looks like this: the CEO, the VP of design, the account director, project managers, content creators, strategists, designers, web developers, and the administrative assistants.
