It is very critical to identify the patient’s deficit so as to create an individualized treatment plan. Explaining to the patient that fluid accumulates in the lungs due to the inability of the heart to pump very efficiently is a cause of CHF. (Copstead, 2013). The fluid travels to the lungs and results in shortness of breath (SOB) or makes the feet or ankles to smell. It is important to pay more attention to the symptoms which the patient is having at this moment in any teaching plan. Compliance will be achieved by teaching the patient and the family on the importance of taking the prescribed medications. The Physician may order a combination of blood pressure medications for Mr. P. Examples are beta blockers, ACE inhibitors, digoxin and diuretics. Education should be provided
