This summer I participated in many exciting events. I helped my dance studio with a dance camp and I spent a few days with my friends. The most exciting thing I did this summer was that my family and I went on a trip to Italy. I have gone to Italy only once before, and I was in fourth grade and it was my second time going to Europe. I love all the different cultures and the people I meet. In Italy everyone is kind and they try to speak English, even though they don’t know it. It was densely populated on the inside of the city, so it was harder to get around. We spent a few hours trying to find our hotel, it was on the inside of the street and we couldn’t find it. When we ordered I decided to get the seafood pasta, it was very good and was filled with crab and shrimp. We even got dessert! My family and I shared a slice of tiramisu. I saw the light of the Duomo and it guided us to the center of Florence, where everyone was out looking at the cathedral. In the days proceeding we walked everywhere. The Uffizi, Palazzo Vecchio, Pitti Palace, and much more. My favorite place to visit was Giotto’s Campanile. It is the tower the sits next to the cathedral. You can climb all the way to the top and we did that. From the top, you can see all of Florence, all the towers, roofs, and hills. You can see in those hills, olive groves and grape vines and little houses in the vineyards. The sky is a crystal blue with big puffy clouds and the grass is a gentle green that rolls over the land. One day we were on the hunt for some leather, Florence is known for the leather. We came across a little glove shop that had gloves
