If she tries to do it, there is a big chance to her being killed by another spirit, therefore the father tries to find another way to help his daughter. By the way, while this happens, the old lady is morally strengthened by one of her old friends, bringing the film to the turning point (Climax). The old lady goes in rescue of the young girl who was about to being murder by the spirit after being possessed. For instance, at the beginning of the film we can see an example of a Match-on-Action Cut, as the young lady approaches to the door there is a switch of perspective, it shows the continuation of the character.
