1. Describe the narrator of the story and his family. Provide textual support for your ideas.
Nat and his family are a bonded family, shown by the family not thinking he is a maniac. When he may be hallucinating.
2. What is Nat’s initial explanation for the birds’ strange behavior? Is this reasonable? Why/Why not? Nats explanation for the birds was that the birds change of behavior was caused by the change of weather, which is not reasonable because weather always changes, why would it affect the birds now.
3. What is Nat’s only concern at the end of the story? What does this suggest regarding his character? Provide specific support for your answers. Nats only concern is to get more information and to wait because he has done everything in his power to survive.
